Latinos in Science and Engineering
ONCE IN MAES, ALWAYS FAMILIA!
MAES was founded in Los Angeles in 1974 to increase the number of Mexican Americans and other Hispanics in the technical and scientific fields. The idea to establish a professional society for Mexican American engineers originated with Robert Von Hatten, an aerospace electronics engineer with TRW Defense Space Systems in Redondo Beach, California. Mr. Von Hatten had for several years served as volunteer for programs directed at combating the alarming number of high school dropouts. He envisioned a national organization that would serve as a source for role models, address of the needs of its members, and become a resource for industry and students.

LatinX in Animation
EMPOWERING DIVERSITY IN ANIMATION FROM PAGE TO POST.
Latino Film Institute + LXiA
Latino Film Institute (LFI) showcases, strengthens and celebrates the richness of Latino lives through the audiovisual event. We develop, activate, and support artists, creators, and executives through pathways and platforms for the expression and appreciation of their work.
LatinX in Animation (LXiA) represents a diverse group within the Animation, VFX, and Gaming industries dedicated to uniting a talented pool of innovators with a heart to create exceptional stories across multiple platforms.
We do so by organizing activities and events focused on networking, camaraderie, community service, education, communication, and professional development. LatinX in Animation will provide the resources necessary to promote and further develop creatives and decision-makers in the Animation, VFX, and Gaming industries.
Through these efforts, we hope to empower and promote the growth of Latinx diversity and minorities in all facets of the Animation, VFX, and Gaming industries by celebrating authentic stories that are About Us, Told By Us and Made By us.

Let’s Sync
AN INSTAGRAM COMMUNITY DEDICATED TO LEARNING ABOUT GENDER AND HEALTH
We're Uma & Melinda. We believe in actively discussing women's health and educating ourselves, and we wanted to share that passion with all of you!
BACKSTORY: We met earlier in 2020 as Brand Ambassadors for a women's health startup called TwentyEight Health. We both went to school in Philadelphia and had been working to plan a women's health event that sadly got canceled due to COVID-19. But, we've stayed in touch ever since!
We shared the same passion for women's health and noticed the lack of conversation around these topics among both young men and women. We started brainstorming and realized that we wanted to create a platform to share information in an easy, inclusive and fact-based manner, something that's approachable for everyone... and Let's Sync was born!
